안녕하세요 오늘은 드디어 기도하며 기다려온 아마존 선교를 위하여 아마존 땅으로 들어가는 첫날입니다!

아마존 강 위에서 찍은 단체사진으로 아마존 첫날의 소식 시작하겠습니다!

Hello! Today is finally the first day we enter the land of the Amazon for the Amazon mission we have been praying and waiting for!

We'll start the first day's update with a group photo taken on the Amazon River!

마나우스에 도착하고 각자의 짐도 몸과 마음의 정리도 사치인듯 그렇게 잠에 든지 3시간쯤 지났을까요…

요란한 알람소리와 함께 마나우스 도착 후 첫 사역의 서막이 올랐습니다.

After arriving in Manaus, it felt like even organizing our belongings—or our hearts and minds—was a luxury. About three hours had passed since we fell asleep…

Then, with a loud alarm, the curtain rose on the beginning of our very first mission work in Manaus

그렇게 짧은 휴식의 시간이었음에도,  

예배와 이 땅과, 이 땅에 있는 영혼들을 향한 마음은 아마존 불볕 더위를 이길만큼 아침부터 뜨거웠습니다.

With such a short time of rest,

team's hearts for worship, for this land, and for every soul; it were burning hotter than the scorching Amazon heat from the very start of the morning.

마나우스 교회 현지 사역자 분들께서 마련해주신 즐거운 식탁의 교재로 체력을 회복한 후

아마존 땅으로 들어가기 위한 리 패키징을 시작하였습니다.

After restoring our energy with a joyful meal prepared by the local ministry people at the Manaus church,

we began repacking in preparation to enter deeper into the Amazon region.

아마존 강변마을에서 사용하게될 의료사역 물품들, 또 아이들과 함께 시간을 보내며 예수님의 사랑을 전하게 될 VBS 용품들을 하나라도 빠질세라 모든 팀원들이 달라붙어 나누기 시작하였습니다.

All the team members jumped in to help, carefully sorting and dividing up the medical supplies that will be used in the riverside villages along the Amazon, as well as the VBS materials we’ll use to share the love of Jesus with the children—making sure not a single item was left behind.

그렇게 얼마나 페킹을 하고 있었을까요...?

뜻밖의 선물이 있었습니다.

How long had we been packing like that…?

Then came an unexpected gift.

또 같은 팀복을 입으며 브라질을 향한 마음을 다시 한마음으로 잡을수 있는 귀중한 시간이였습니다.

Sister Eun-Jin  personally and lovingly created beautiful team t-shirts for the Brazil team!

Look at them—they're such a cheerful yellow, aren’t they? So cute and vibrant! We’re all so grateful to her for this heartfelt act of dedication.

Wearing the same team shirt brought us together in spirit once again, giving us a precious moment to realign our hearts toward Brazil with unity and purpose.

짐 뿐만 아니라 또 가져가야 할것이 있습니다.

바로 물!! 

It’s not just the luggage we need to bring—
there’s something else that’s absolutely essential:

Water!! ???? Clean drinking water is a must as we head into the Amazon!

현지 물을 공급할수 있는 수단이 많지 않은데다가, 현지 물로 인한 감염 또는 물갈이들이 일어날수 있어, 팀원 모두 시중에서 판매중인 물 들로 수분 보충을 하는데요.

아마존에서는 더더욱 공급하기가 어려워 많은 물들 또한 아마존을 들어가는데에 필수로 필요한 잇템 이였습니다

그렇게 버스로 30여분을 달려 아마존 항구에 도착을 하였습니다.

버스가 배로 들어가는 것이 아니니 버스에 실었던 그 많은 짐들을 다시 배로 옮겨야 했습니다

After about a 30-minute bus ride, we arrived at the Amazon port.

Since the bus can’t go onto the boat, we had to unload all that heavy luggage from the bus and transfer it onto the boat again.

짐도 다 실었으니, 이제 아마존 강변 마을로 출발해 봅시다.

Now that all the luggage is loaded,

let’s set off for the riverside village along the Amazon!

배에 오르자마자, 5시간이나 걸릴 또 다른 긴 여정은 잠시 미뤄 두고. 하나님이 창조하신 아름다운 자연을 보며 오른 자리에 멈춰서 감탄 할수 밖에 없었습니다.

그에 걸맞게 하나님을 찬양하며, 아마존 강변 마을로 출발 하였습니다.

As soon as we boarded the boat, the long 5-hour journey ahead was momentarily set aside.

We couldn’t help but pause and marvel at the beautiful nature God has created around us.

With hearts full of praise to God, we then set off toward the riverside village along the Amazon

복음을 전할수 있는 축복이...

당연한것 아니라 은혜였소...

가삿말로 지나칠수 있던 마음의 고백에, 왜 우리가 이곳에 와있는지 

부르심의 상급이 무엇 이였는지, 다시금 마음의 세길수 있는 아주 알맞는 찬양의 고백이였던것 같습니다.

The blessing to share the Gospel...

is not something to be taken for granted—it is grace.

What could have been just a lyric and melody turned into a heartfelt confession, reminding us why we are here,

and what the reward of this calling truly is.

It was a perfect praise that carved itself deeply into our hearts once again.

마음을 다한 찬양의 고백 후 각자 팀으로 흩어져 큐티를 시작하였습니다.

첫날 부터 느끼신 분들도 있으시겠지만, 이번 브라질 선교팀의 큐티는 뭔가 심상치 않습니다.

마음 깊은 곳에서 나오는 나눔이, 단순히 믿음 생활 짬순(?)이 아니라 뭔가 알수 없는 따듯하고 깊은 나눔들이 있는 것을 볼수 있어

그 어느때보다 나눔의 시간이 기다려 지곤 했습니다.

After the heartfelt praise and confession, each team scattered to begin their quiet time (QT).

Some of you may have already felt it from the first day, but the QT for this Brazil mission team was something extraordinary.

The sharing that came from deep within wasn’t just routine faith talk or seniority—it was filled with a warm and profound depth that we couldn’t quite explain.

Because of that, more than ever, we found ourselves looking forward to the time of sharing.

룰은 간단합니다. 목사님은 뒤로 서 계시고. 팀원들이 돌아가며

"목사님!" 하고 외치면 그 지체가 누구였는지 맞추면 되는 게임!

We couldn’t just keep memorizing endlessly, right?

So, how about a quick and fun recreation time? ????

Introducing: Pastor Hwang Doo-Sik’s “Guess That Voice!” game!

The rules are simple:
Pastor stands facing away from the group, and team members take turns calling out, “Pastor!”
He then has to guess who it was based solely on their voice!

Let the laughter—and the surprises—begin!

역시 팀원들과 교회를 사랑하시는 목사님께는 너무 쉬운 문제 였을까요?

약간에 망설임이 있어 보이는듯 했지만 완벽히 전원 맞추시며 통과!

As expected, was it just too easy for a pastor who deeply loves his team and church?

Though he seemed to hesitate for just a moment here and there,
he still guessed every single one perfectly—nailed it, all the way through!

Now, next up!! After that long boat ride that’s left everyone a bit stiff

A refreshing session to loosen up our bodies and bring some energy back before we reach the village! Let’s stretch it out together

이렇게 유익하게 시간을 보내며 드디어 

저 멀리서 보이는 아마존 강변 교회에 드디어 도착을 했습니다!!!

자 이제 짐부터 언능 옮겨 봅시다!!

After spending our time so meaningfully…

we finally arrived at the Amazon riverside church, visible from afar at last!!!

Now, let’s get to it—time to unload the luggage quickly and get started!

남녀노소 상관 없이 모두 한마음으로

저렇게 긴 줄을 만들어 그 많던 짐들을 다 위로 올렸습니다.

아마존 강변 마을 베이스 캠프 교회 내부는 이렇습니다. 

작년에 한번 와봤었던 형제 자매님들이 무색해 질 만큼 많은 것들이 개선되어 있었습니다.

Brothers, sisters, youth, and elders alike—all with one heart—

formed a long human chain and passed along the countless bags and boxes, getting everything up to the base.

Here’s a look inside the Amazon riverside village’s base camp church.

So much has been improved that even those who visited last year were amazed at the changes—it felt like a whole new place! ????⛪????

장시간 배로 이동하기도 하였고

그 많은 짐들을 한사람도 빠짐없이 모두가 옮겨 몸이 이미 지칠대로 지쳤지만

팀원들 모두 내일 있을 사역들을 위하여 다시 분주하게 움직이기 시작하였습니다. 

After the long hours on the boat,

and with every single person helping to carry all that heavy luggage, our bodies were already exhausted.

Yet, despite the fatigue, every team member began moving busily once again—
preparing for the ministry work waiting for us tomorrow.

VBS팀은 데코와 크레프트 게임 준비

의료팀은 내일있을 진료와 상담 준비

각자 맞은 자리에서 주어진 역활을 성실해가는 팀원들의 모습이 존경스러웠습니다.

The VBS team focused on decorating, preparing crafts, and setting up games,
while the medical team got ready for the consultations and treatments scheduled for tomorrow.

It was truly inspiring to see each team member faithfully carrying out their responsibilities,
right where they were placed—with dedication and heart.

비록 작년에 비해 많은 것들이 개선 되어졌다고는 하나

화장실과 샤워 시설은 여전히 열악하였습니다.. ㅎㅎ

이것이 또 선교의 묘미 겠죠?

갑작스래 들이닥쳐오는 짐승들과 벌래들을 예방하기 위하여 간단한 보수 작업과, 방충망 작업을 형제님들께서 진행해 주셨습니다.

수고해주신 노고에 다시금 감사의 말씀을 드립니다 ㅎㅎ

Although many things have been improved compared to last year,

the bathroom and shower facilities… were still quite rough.
But hey—that’s part of the charm of missions, right?

To help prevent unexpected visits from critters and insects,
some of the brothers took the lead in doing simple repairs and installing mosquito nets.

A big thank-you again for all your hard work—you guys really made a difference

분주한 하루의 끝에 하나님의 주시는 아름다운 노을로 

이 먼 아마존 땅 까지 우리를 불러주신 하나님의 귀한 선물도 볼수 있었습니다

At the end of a busy day,

we were blessed to witness a beautiful sunset; a precious gift from God
reminding us of the One who called us all the way to this distant land of the Amazon.

A quiet but powerful sign of His presence, wrapping up the day with grace.

저희도 이렇게 하루가 마무리 되는것 같았습니다!

It felt like our day was coming to a close just like that!

But then

다급히 오신 선교사님, 10분 거리 인디오 마을 교회에 예배가 있으니 그곳에 가야한다 라는 소식을 전달 받았습니다.

물론 말씀은 우리의 리더 황두식 목사님! 그리고 그동안 선교팀이 준비했던, 바디워십과 스킷! 전부 그곳에서 예배로 드리기로 하였습니다.

Suddenly, a missionary arrived urgently with news that there was a worship service just 10 minutes away at an Indio village church and we needed to go there.

Of course, the message will be delivered by our leader, Pastor Hwang Doo-Sik!

Everything the mission team had prepared so far—the body worship and the skit—was to be offered as part of the service there.

자 순종하는 마음으로 다시 배에 올라타고 출발!

With hearts ready to obey, we boarded the boat once again and set off!

말씀을 전하실 목사님과 그곳에서 드려질 현지 예배를 위하여 기도하는 시간도 가졌습니다

We also took time to pray—for Pastor as he prepared to deliver the message,

and for the local worship service that would be held there

워낙에 작은 교회 이다 보니 성도보다 선교팀이 많아저 버린 아이러니한 상황이였지만

이곳에서 드리는 예배는 그 어느곳에 드려지는 예배보다 뜨거웠습니다.

Since the church was so small, the mission team actually outnumbered the local congregation—an ironic situation indeed.

But the worship we offered there was more passionate and heartfelt than anywhere else

찬양팀의 맞춰 열심히 탬버린으로 함께 찬양하고 계신 우리의 황두목님!

Here’s our Pastor Hwang Doo-Sik, enthusiastically joining the praise team and playing the tambourine with all his heart! 

Such a joyful sight of worship in motion!

오늘 예배는 특별히 아이들의 특송 순서가 있었습니다.

비록 우리가 알아 들을수 없는 포르투갈어의 찬양이였지만

그 고백 역시 천사의 순수함을 볼수 있어 은혜가 있었습니다.

Today’s service included a special solo performance by the children.

Although the praise was in Portuguese—a language we couldn’t understand—

their heartfelt confession carried the pure innocence of angels, and it was truly a blessing to witness

자 우리 언니 오빠들도 준비해 갔던 스킷과 바디워십으로 화답해 줘야 겠지요??

Alright, now it’s time for our brothers and sisters to respond with the skit and body worship they prepared, right?

Let’s lift their hearts even higher with our performance!

모든 예배의 순서를 잘 마친후 특송을 하였던 아이들, 우리의 다음 세대 위하여 기도하는 시간을 가졌습니다,

어린 아이 시절부터 그리스도를 믿는 것 만큼 귀한것이 없고, 이 아이들의 믿음이 성장하는 좋은 시간이 되기를 

팀원들 모두 진심으로 아이들을 위하여 기도해 주었습니다
 

After finishing all the worship service smoothly,

we had a special prayer time for the children who had performed: Our next generation

There’s nothing more precious than believing in Christ from childhood,

and all the team members sincerely prayed that these kids’ faith would grow strong and flourish

예배도 잘 드렸고 하니 다시 베이스 캠프로 돌아가려던 차

현지 교인분들깨서 저희들을 위하여 무더운 밤 시원한 음료를 준비해 주셨다고 하시기에, 

슬~쩍 마시고 돌아가 볼까 합니다 ㅎㅎ

The service went well, and as we were about to head back to the base camp,

the local church members kindly told us they had prepared some refreshing drinks for us on this hot night.

So… maybe we’ll sneak a little sip before we go back

너무 더웠던 열대야에 시원함이 주는 감사함도 있었지만. 

아마존 땅과 민족을 섬기러온 팀원들을 오해려 섬기려 해주시는 현지 교인분들에 마음에서 예수님의 마음을 느낄수 있는 아주 소중한 시간이었습니다.

In the sweltering heat of the tropical night, the cool drinks were refreshing and deeply appreciated—

but even more touching was the heart behind them.

It was a precious moment where we could truly feel the heart of Jesus through the local church members,
who, instead of simply receiving, were eager to serve those who had come to serve them

오늘 이 교회에서 드렸던 예배와 서로를 향한 기도 그리고 그리스도를 닮은 섬김은 영원도록 잊지 않을것입니다.

The worship we shared today in this small church,
the prayers we lifted up for one another,
and the Christlike spirit of service we experienced—

these are moments we will never forget.

They will remain in our hearts forever.

As we look up at the night sky, we’re reminded that there is a God who comforts us—

telling us, “Well done today,” through the beautiful stars He created.

And because of that gentle, powerful love,
we feel ready to rise again tomorrow
with strength and joy—to serve boldly in the work He’s called us to.

Starting tomorrow, our full VBS and medical missions will officially begin.

We, the Brazil mission team, are constantly strengthened by the love and prayer support from our Saenuri family back home. 

As we step into these next few days of ministry,
we’d be so grateful if you could continue to pray for each team member’s physical and spiritual strength,
and for God’s hand to be upon every moment and encounter.
