Happy Saturday! Today, we got to sleep in, having an outing, and practice for our presentations tomorrow! We began our day together to share about our week and talk with the Lord. After, we carpooled to Eon Mall and had some time to look around and shop for ourselves and for our friends back home. We kept in mind to think about the people in the mall and to pray over them as God's children.  It also rained today! The weather has been less hot this weekend. ^.^ We took this video after our skit practice in the evening before dinner time! After dinner time, we practiced our blessing song ("How He Loves") and then practiced our skit once again! Before parting ways, we talked about our Sabbath rest.. a day dedicated to the Lord where the whole body of Christ worships our God together. We brought up this analogy... If I were to have a date with a man tomorrow, I wouldn't be sleeping late, but I would sleep early and try to be prepared for the exciting day. And our relationship with the Lord is no less important! :) We talked about preparing our hearts for this Sabbath rest, and date with the Lord, that the He gave to us, and we also talked about preparing ourselves physically.. So... We did face masks after going back home and preparing for tomorrow! ♡♡♡ Aren't our brothers so~~~ cute? ^^ G O O D  N I G H T  S A E N U R I ! ♡ We are so ready to sleep!  We are also excited, but nervous for tomorrow..  Praise the Lord that He Loves Us!!! It is already a beautiful day tomorrow, I feel it. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will lead! We really want to bless our brothers and sisters and uncles and aunties in Christ tomorrow! Please pray that our hearts will be opened too. Hello, family~  It's already Friday night here in Higashikurume, Tokyo! We finished one full week of English camp and VBS.  Every day has been so long, but we're thankful that they were. :) This week, there were only about 20 kids everyday, but because next week is officially summer vacation, we are expecting around 50 kids! Here are some photos we took today! We sang Making Melodies today so we can sing it to their parents at the Sunday service! D3 Day 5: Now What Do We Do? It was a little hard to have everyone's focus today. ^.^; We acted out two scenes of what a Good Shepherd is like. The first "shepherd" ran away when the wolves came to attack his sheep. The second Shepherd cared for, protected, and died for His sheep. We shared about all the evidence we collected about Jesus: - He really is God's Son. - He's more than just a good man. - His death was real. - He really is alive! But... now what? We asked the kids to place their hands on their heart and to say that Jesus died for this heart. Jesus died for me. We then asked three questions! Do you want to know your Good Shepherd, Jesus? Do you want to feel God's love? Do you want to share Jesus, God's love? After answering these questions, us teachers went to the kids that rose their hands and prayed with them. We can only be curious about what were in the kids' minds and on God's mind at the moment too.  After VBS was done today, we all went to do our own agendas. Some of us stayed at the church until 3:00 pm to clean or to help with the pre-k English camp and some of us went to the nearby supermarket. At 4:30 pm, we got together to practice our skit that we are preparing to share with the congregation at the Sunday service! Here is a clip of our most recent run-through! Aren't they great? ^^ Today was only our second day of practicing! It's now 7:51 pm here! We just ate dinner and are planning to go to the supermarket to have a team time and eat ice-cream! We hope to bless the people at the supermarket by prayer walking inside. Please pray that the seeds of prayer we plant will grow! Please pray that we can grow in our faith while we are here.  Please pray that we can see each other how God sees us. Please pray that we can learn to support each other, support the Kang family, and support the kids with all that we can. Please pray that God's will would be done! The Kang family (the pastor's family that we are staying with and helping out) is always doing so much for us and the kids. Please pray that they will have strength from the Lord! :) We really want to follow our God's direction.. please pray that we can hear his voice and know his heart more! Please also pray for me (Amy)! I want to be able to lead in love.. it's been very easy to be frustrated and to feel defeated for me, so please pray that my eyes will turn back to Jesus if I look away!  Thank you so much for reading this and for praying for us. It's been really fun to share how we've been doing and to have Internet connect us, who are thousands of miles away! But it's more exhilarating to remember that the Spirit keeps us as one us across any distance!! Shalom from Japan! ♥ Today was another busy day, but we're learning that within tight schedules God always has us on His mind and we can too! Here are some photos from last night. We climbed to the roof of the church to watch the sun setting!  Last night, we asked God if our teaching time could include more focus and less demands to play.. It was so amazing today!  Kayleah, Claire, and Jackie shared that their kids assumed focus was the answer much more than the days before! Some of the kids would complete one page of class work then ask if they could do another page. It made teaching that much more fun... to experience this growth in the process of walking with the children. :) It's me, Jin! I'm saving that rice on my cheek for later~ -Jin D3 DAY 4: Is Jesus Alive? We talked about God's promises today. We asked the kids how we would know if Jesus is alive, and I think the Lord wanted us to share how He keeps His covenant with His people. God isn't a promise breaker, and His pinky promises are kept until eternity.. We remembered and learned that today. ^^ Here, Kayleah, Hannah, and Nanyoung are acting as the women who visited Jesus' tomb! During our skit practice time, here, Ashley is reviewing the skit on youtube. : ) We went out for dinner for the first time since getting here! The Kang family treated us to a fusion Chinese-Japanese restaurant next door. It is 11:24 pm, and we are all so so so ready to sleep! :) It has been so wonderful to get closer with each other, and we've been having an even better time serving together. Please pray that the Lord would be our strength--in every way! We've all been incredibly tired by the time it's 3:00 pm... and we still have so much to prepare for after that time. Please pray that the Lord's will would be done and not ours! Please pray that we can continue to learn to love each other and the kids like the Lord loves us. Please pray for the Kang family! Please pray that we can lean on our God and follow His lead! I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. (John 10:14, 15) Greetings!! We finished our third day at the church and have so many mixed feelings already! It feels like we've been here for over a week, but it also feels like something is beginning anew... maybe it's the work of the Spirit. :) As is routine now, we woke up early to begin the hot, humid, but life-filled morning with each other and our Lord! Here, Sarah and Kayleah are walking to the church building! We then began our day with the kids at 9:00 am. Some of us who came in the previous years noticed that it was especially harder to teach the kids during the English camp... We think it may be because they are used to us teachers and not shy anymore.. ^^ Please pray that we can love them as Jesus loves us during these times!! Please pray 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 over us!! T.T Hello! I loved taking pictures with Teacher Wall-E (Claire) today! -Jin ^.^ Agency D3: DAY 3 Was Jesus' Death Real? What Was God's Plan For Jesus? We wanted to share the meaning of the cross with the kids today. Initially, we were puzzled about how to share today's message. Thankfully, God told us His plan! He wanted us to share about His love with the kids... Jesus is our Good Shepherd, and He laid down His life for us because He loves us and protects us.  We started by asking the kids, "Why did Jesus have to die for us? Why did He have to die that kind of death?" .. And we talked about sheep. :) Here is Jesus (Chris) with us (His sheep). Jesus LOVES His sheep and loves protecting us and caring after us. However, without a shepherd, the sheep are so so so lost! One of the sheep (Stanley) jumped off a cliff and the rest of the sheep followed him! While we shared about the message of why Jesus died for us, we asked Jesus to tell us personally why He loves us so much to die for us and delight in us after His death... to protect us through His death and even after His resurrection.  Since we are also God's children, we (the teachers) also want to know why Jesus loves us so much, too. ^.^ It was his nap time during sharing time. : ) ★★ Craft time with Claire & Jackie! ★★ Tonight, we are planning on preparing a skit and special presentations to share with our aunties and uncles in Christ at Sunday worship! Please pray that we will find strength in Christ alone.. and that we will take care of ourselves too! To rest when we can and to have fun too~ Please pray that our eyes will look to Jesus more and more while we are here. Please pray that we will be One in Spirit and One as a Body—taking care of each other when we are down and rejoicing with each other when even one person is happy. Please pray that God will open our eyes, ears, and hearts to see Japan as God sees His country.. that our hearts would break as his breaks and that our hearts would rejoice as his does. Please pray for God's will to be done, not ours! Please pray that the kids will also hold onto all the love that the Lord pours out upon them. Please pray that they will minister to their parents through His love! (A few of the kids did so in previous years and their parents began coming to church through them!) Please pray that the missionary family that we are staying with would receive encouragement from us and through us! Hello from Japan! ♡ It is currently 3:20 pm on Tuesday of our 1st week here, and some of us are gathered around the computer typing this to you. ^_^ We just finished our second day of English camp and VBS, and we are now getting some rest and talking about our plans for the weekend! Today was better than yesterday. We all got much more sleep than the night before and felt more prepared for the day because we had the night before to gather together. We decorated the church last night! Here is a photo of one side of the chapel room. Here, we are doing the "Carol" pose with Amy, Mua, Moana, and Lala.  These three girls came to last year's English camp and VBS and joined us again this year! Here is Ashley with Lala! The kids were much more restless today... please pray that we can have the endurance to still be patient and teach them with kind hearts! Hello, it's Jin again! ^.^ Today, I smiled for the photographer. We loved praise time with the kids! It's always a popular time for us all. Claire is an excellent and patient and fun teacher. -anonymous #CarolSwag  Lunch time for us! ☆ We love taking photos with the kids while spending time with them. : ) *** Day 2: Is Jesus more than a Good Man? We had so much fun with our message and skit today!!! Chris played the role of Jesus, again, today, and the rest of our team were disciples! We acted out 3 scenes of what Jesus was like and had the kids vote if the scene was True or False. CONTEXT: Mark 6:30-44 By this time, Jesus and His disciples were being followed by MANY people. Because Jesus and His disciples hadn't eaten yet, Jesus quietly told His disciples to come with him to a quiet place to rest. The people, however, still followed them! But Jesus had COMPASSION.  Jesus then proceeded to seek God's face, thank God, and act our His compassion for the people by defying the disciples' expectations of love: sharing food that would simply not be enough. For SCENE 1, Jesus wore sunglasses and was "too popular" for the people. He followed his disciples' advice to not feed the people. For SCENE 2,  Jesus wore a disguise and hid from the people. He also followed his disciples' advice to leave the people. For SCENE 3, Jesus approached the people as He is and embraced everyone--the people and His disciples--then performed the amazing miracle! The kids are SO awake! They were quick to say "No!" when we asked if this was Jesus for the first two scenes, and they yelled "Yes!" when we asked if this was Jesus for the last scene. They know who Jesus is even though they are so young. It's lovely. :) We handed out invisible, multiplying pieces of bread and fish. :) Jackie helping Kairi with today's craft, "Jesus' Miracles" booklet! ☆ 난영 언니 with the kind Cindy! ☆singing Truth to each other and praises to our King☆ our praise team is awesome! our "5 loaves and 2 fish" (for the skit) It is still 4:09 pm here. ^^ The kids went out to the supermarket to have fresh air outside and buy some snacks. We are planning on meeting for dinner then spending time with our Abba Father! Please pray that we can spend our time more wisely while we are here... that God would train us to be better stewards with our time at home, too! Please pray that we would be in FULL protection, again!  Our brothers weren't feeling too well--with aches and pains here and there--but we've been taking better care of ourselves, and they are doing much better. :) Stanley doesn't have any aches anymore, Chris' knee is barely swollen now, and Timmy is getting lots of rest and water so his stomach heals from indigestion! Thank you, God, and thank you, family! ♥♥♥ Please also pray for the Kang family. They do so much, and we can see that they are filled with joy but can be tired, too. Please pray that we can really work as a team and support this amazing family. Please pray that God's will would be done! Good Morning, family! It is currently 12:05 am on Tuesday, July 15, in Higashikirime, Tokyo! We got back from our first day of English camp and VBS at Tokyo Vision Church two hours ago.  Everyone is so tired, but we're all sleeping tonight well aware of the faithfulness of our Abba in heaven.  We want to know him more, and we're ready to share His love with our God's children in Japan! Here are some photos/video highlighting our day... *** It was Timmy's birthday TODAY! Please Wish him a happy birthday and pray for him. : ) The girls woke up at 7:00 am to blow balloons and crack glow-sticks to surprise Timothy.  We began the day celebrating and blessing our brother! After surprising Timmy, we spent time together and with our Father in heaven! Ashley and Timmy are taking care of the 2-3 year olds. Nanyoung and Stanley helped the missionary family a lot today. ^^ Hello, my name is Jin! ^.^ Amy shared the story of Jesus' baptism by John, this afternoon! As Amy shared, Chris and Stanley acted the scene out.  Chris = Jesus Stanley = John the Baptist John is baptizing Jesus here. Claire and Jackie are our wonderful craft leaders! Here, they are sharing with the kids how to put together today's craft. Craft time. ^_^ Timmy loves playing with the kids. They did Judo, believe it or not! : ) Hannah, Kayleah, and Kairi! Kairi attends the church with his older brother and parents.  Tomorrow is a new day. It's a new day full of His new mercies and His hand upon us always~ Please pray that we would continue to trust our Abba and follow Him wherever He leads us while we are here! Please also pray that we would have FULL protection from the enemy, and that we would trust God that He would make good even what the enemy makes bad. His children... please pray that the Lord would protect the kids' hearts as well and that the seeds of the Gospel would rest on good soil! Dear Pastor Son and the ChurchOn behalf of Philippi Arts Academy, I'd like to thank you so much for the musical instrument donation we received last month. Your kind generosity has helped our academy to see our dream of having an Orchestra taking off and to ensure that our children  have access to music education which has lifelong benefits. Your contribution has made a lot of children to want to try out the instrument. Last week it was such a joy for me to see the excitement in their faces when they touched the instruments for the first time.We started our violin class with 16 children and teenagers . We had to figure out a system that will effectively serve all the children as we wish to have musical instruments accessible to all of them.We're all are excited to see them play (in the near future) in church and for their family and friends (for now).Truly this has been a highlight for our academy. And It will always be part of our story.We sincerely thank you again for believing in what we're doing. As staff , we promise to support and encourage our students to do their very best. 허선교사님께서 남아공에 15년 계시는 동안 단기 선교팀이 두 교회에서 왔다고 합니다. 그나마 한교회는 딱 한번 온 것으로 끝을 내고, 저희 교회는 연이어 두번 와 주셨다고 너무 감사하다고 하셨습니다. 선교지의 사람들은 다시 온 그것만으로 자신들을 계속 기억해줌에 사랑을 느낀다고 합니다. 더우기 아이들을 위해  선교사역중 처음으로 VBS를 열어준 이번 사역이 큰 힘이 되셨다고 합니다. 앞으로 함께 어린이 사역을 통해 복음을 전할 중기 선교사를 위해 기도해달라고 부탁도 하셨습니다 저희들에게 기회를 주신 하나님께 감사드리고, 저희 또한 큰 은혜를 받았습니다. 주일날 예배를 마치고 현지 한인 선교사님들을 초대해서 함께 식사를 나누고 현지 사정 이야기를 많이 듣고 기도제목들을 나누는 시간을 갖였습니다. 선교사님부부와 아쉬움을 뒤로하고 울음을 억지로 참아보지만 모두울음을 터트리고 맙니다...하나님과 두분의 사랑을 많이 받고 갑니다.   비행기를 타고 이제 남아공 아이들의 맑은 눈방울을 가슴에 담고 미국을 향해 갑니다.  아프리카에서 만난 모든 형제 자매님들, 선교사님들의 사랑 때문에 눈물이 멈추질 않습니다.  하나님의 사랑의 띠에 묶여 있기에 헤어짐이 이렇게 힘이 든것 같습니다.  계속 그들을 위해 기도 할것 입니다.  하나님께서 저희들에게 허락하신 형제, 자매님들....언젠가 또 만나기를 소망 합니다. 하나님의 사랑!!! 이렇게 를 끝냅니다.  승주찬!남아공선교

아이들과 만날 수 있는 마지막 날 입니다. 아침에 목사님과 QT를 하면서 잘못된 선택을 해도 보호 인도하시는 하나님의 사랑을 다시 한번 되새겨 봅니다.  왕의 기름부음 받은 다윗도 하나님 앞에서 그 많은 실수를 해도 용서해 주시고 잡아 주시는 그 하나님.  그 하나님이 저희들과 함께 하기에 그 사랑으로 오늘 하루 시작을 합니다. 승주찬! 아이들과 드리는 마지막 예배 날.  도착해 보니 이미 50명이 넘는 아이들이 나와서 우리들을 반겨 주었습니다.  오늘은 더 덥다더니....햇빛이 너무 따갑습니다. 예배를 위해 아이들과 의자들을 셋업하였습니다.  예배를 기다리는 간절한 마음이 있는 아이들이라 그런지 너무 열심히 의자들을 옮기고 웃음을 저희들에게 부어 주었습니다.   허 선교사님 사모님께서는 몇백명이 먹어야 하는 먹거리를 만드시느라 분주 하십니다.  하나님의 마음이 핫도그 안에 가득 합니다. ㅎㅎ   예배가 시작 된다는 소리에 텐트 속으로 옹기종기 모이는 아이들.  오늘 따라 그 눈망울들이 마음에 품어 집니다.   화상을 입은듯한 아이입니다.  3일 내내 조용히 늘 함께 한 아이.  예배 시간 전에 일찍 오고 예배 시간이 끝나고 나서도 서성되는 한 영혼.  하나님께서 이 아이를 만져 주시길 기도합니다.   기도로 예배를 시작 하였습니다.  웃고 놀때는 한없이 철부지 같은 아이들.  그러나 기도 할때 만큼은 예배 드리는 동안 만큼은 진지 합니다.  하나님을 향한 간절한 이 마음들...누군가 그 아이들을 하나님 안으로 인도해야 하지 않을까요? 그 일을 저희가 잠깐이나마 동참 할 수 있어서 감사 합니다.   300명의 아이들이 찬양을 드립니다.  열심히 따라하며 온맘 다해 신령과 진정으로 예배를 드리는 이 귀한 영혼들. 저희가 끝까지 품고 기도하라고 하나님께서 저희에게 주신 아이들 입니다.  (위의 사진은 클릭하시면 동영상을 보실 수 있습니다.)   첫날은 하나님의 창조, 둘째날은 하나님께 순종하는 삶, 마지막 날인 오늘은 기도에 대해 아이들과 나누었습니다.  "아멘" 외치는 그 함성들을 하나님께서 들으시고 얼마나 좋아 하셨을까요.   하나님의 말씀을 열심히 듣습니다.  예배를 드리는 아이들의 모습들이 너무 이쁘기만 합니다.   하나님의 말씀을 귀기우리는 아이들의 눈방울....   예수님을 구주로 인정하고, 말씀을 읽으며 기도하기로 작정한 아이들 입니다.  스테프들과 함께 아이들 한명한명을 붙잡고 기도하는 시간 이였습니다.  이 아이들 속에서 영적 지도자들이, 목사님들이 나와서 이 지역을 바꿀 수 있는 그  날을 꿈꿔보며 기도하였습니다.     아이들의 예배가 끝나고 점심 식사 하는 시간 입니다.  미국에서 흔한 핫도그 하나가 이 아이들에겐 너무 귀한 음식 입니다.   아이들의 예배가 끝나고 이제 어른들이 드리는 예배 시간입니다.  이곳에선 여자분들은 치마를 입어야 합니다. 주일 날은 가장 이쁜 옷들을 입고 모입니다.    찬양이 끝나고 간증하는 시간이였습니다.  이 자매님은 하나님을 믿었고 교회를 다녔었지만 이곳 Cape Town으로 이사온 후 교회를 다니지도 않고 하나님을 멀리 했었는데 이제 다시 하나님과 함께 교제하기 원한다고 간증하였었습니다.   이 곳에선 형제님들을 찾기가 힘이 듭니다.  주로 자매님들이 아이들을 돌봐주고, 집안일들을 돌봐주며 돈을 벌어 생계를 유지 합니다.  아기들을 등에 업고 나와서 예배 드리는 모습입니다.    (위의 사진은 클릭하시면 동영상을 보실 수 있습니다.)   저희 선교팀들이 앞에 나가서 자기 소개를 하는 시간이였습니다.    손 목사님의 설교를 들으며 이제 각자에게 있는 문제들을 하나님께 드리고, 하나님을 꼭 붙잡겠다 다짐 하는 영혼들 입니다.     3일 동안 1100명이 모였었습니다.  주일 예배는 아침 10시 반에 시작해서 오후 1시에 끝이 났습니다. 원래 이들의 주일 예배는 10시 반부터 시작해서 오후 4시 쯤에 끝이 난다고 합니다. 온전한 하루를 하나님께 예배 드리는 이곳 사람들...그러나 때로는 하나님보단 그들의 조상신을 잡으려는 이들... 너무 감사한 것은 무엇보다 5명이 하나님을 오늘 영접하였고 많은 아이들이 교회에 나와 하나님 말씀을 듣겠다고 다짐 하였었습니다.  저희들의 임무는 여기까지.  이곳을 떠나도 이들을 품고 기도하려고 합니다. 오늘 어른 예배시  찬양을 1시간 드렸는데 원래 이 곳 주민들은 2시간 이상 찬양을 하나님께 드린다고 합니다. 찬양 후 간증시간이 있는데 보통 10명이 간증을 드린다고 합니다. 오늘은 시간상 5명만 하였는데 이번 집회에서 하나님을 영접한 사람이 5명 있었고 아이들 예배에서도 많은 어린이들이 교회에 나오기를 다짐 했었습니다.   오늘의 사역을 끝내고 이 지역에서 선교 활동 하시는 한인 선교사님들을 초대해서 휘스트를 갖였습니다. 늘 하나님의 사랑을 현지인들에게 부어 주셔야만 하는 분들.  하나님의 사랑으로 헌신을 하셔도 현지인들에게 외면 당하실 때도 많고 심지어 도둑까지 맞으시는 분들.  이분들에게 오늘의 한끼와 교제가 큰 힘이 되였으리라 믿습니다. 이분들에게도 기도의 힘이 필요합니다.  함께 기도해 주세요.     전혀 기대하지 못했었는데 Site-C Church에서 고맙다는 마음의 표시로 카드를 저희들에게 주었습니다. 단지 하나님의 사랑을 나누었는데 이 카드가 너무나 저희들에겐 큰 감동 이였습니다. 오늘도 승리하신 주님을 찬양합니다.

  바쁜 일정이지만 늘 아침 일찍 기도로 시작하고 하루를 기도로 끝내는 선교팀.  하나님께서 제자 훈련을 시키시고 계십니다.  저희들은 이 삶이 남아공 선교가 끝이 나도 계속 진행할 것입니다.  늘 눈물이 있는 나눔. 오늘도 하나님께서 기뻐하시는 하루가 되리라 믿었습니다. 9시에 Holiday Bible Club (VBS)을 시작하기로 하였었습니다.   시작 하기 전 텐트 주의를 의자로 경계선을 만들고 준비를 시작하였습니다. 그러나 현지인들이  보이지 않는 텅빈 우리들의 예배 장소.  그렇습니다.  이 곳 현지인들은 시간의 개념이 없습니다.  그러기에 이 곳에서 선교하시는 선교사님들은 늘 뛰어 다니시며 사람들을 불러 모아 사역을 하십니다. 그러나 우리 선교팀은 오늘 만날 많은 영혼들을 기억하며 기도 하였습니다.  하나님께서 허락하신 사역이기에 많은 아이들을 저희에게 오늘 하루 맡기심을 믿었기 때문입니다. 현수막 속에 하나님의 기쁨이 넘쳐납니다.  지칠 줄 모르는 우리 선교팀, 오늘도 승주찬!!! 이곳 현지 스테프들이 모였습니다.  10시가 되서야 모였습니다.  이곳에서 사역하시는 허 선교사님 내외분의 고충을 조금이나마 느꼈습니다. 이제 우리는 하나님의 일꾼이라는 한 몸이 되였습니다.  오늘 있을 Holiday Bible Club (VBS) 를 위해 함께 기도 하였습니다.  10시가 넘자 약속이라도 하였다는 듯이 마구 밀려 오는 아이들.  우리에게 오늘 허락하신 한영혼 한영혼들 입니다. 비록 짧은 기간이지만 하나님께서 이 아이들의 마음 속 깊은 곳에 하나님의 말씀을 오늘도 심어주시리라 믿습니다. 현지  선교사님들이 이곳에서 이런 VBS를 하시려면 1년이상의 준비과정이 필요 할뿐 아니라, 할 엄두도 낼 수 없는 현실이라고 합니다.  이곳에서는 아직 VBS라는 것을 해본적이 한번도 없다고 합니다. 저희 NCBC 선교팀이 처음으로 시작한 Holiday Bible Club!  하나님께서 이 사역을 계속 이 지역에 지속시켜 주시기를 기도 합니다. 10팀을 만들고 각 팀마다 리더들을 세웠습니다.  영어를 모르는 아이들을 위해 늘 통역이 필요하였고, 90도를 넘은 더운 날씨로 어려움이 있었습니다.  그러나 우리가 하나님과 함께 동행하기에 웃음이 가득한 곳이였습니다. (클릭하시면 동영상을 보실 수 있습니다.) 모든 게임이 끝나고 아이들에게 핫도그와 음료수를 나눠 주며 내일 마지막 주일예배에서 만날 것을 기약하였습니다.   아이들이 다 간 후에 뒤늦게 먹는 스테프들의 점심 시간....아이들과 헤어지고 나서야 배고픔이 몰려 옵니다. 이곳은 제일 큰 빈민촌인 칼리차 타운쉽입니다.  칼리차라는 뜻은 희망의 집이라고 합니다.  이 많은 가구들을 언제 정부가 집을 지어 줄 수 있을까요.  90도를 넘는 날이라 양철집들이 더욱 더워 보입니다.    하나님의 사랑을 나눠주고 때앗볕에서 아이들과 뛰고 나니 마음과는 다르게 육체의 한계가 있습니다. ㅎㅎ 차 안에서 잠깐 잠이 든 자매님들... 자는 모습들도 하나님께서 이뻐 하시지 않을까요? 잠깐의 잠이지만 하나님께서 큰 쉬심을 허락하십니다. ㅋㅋ   이곳은 Cape Point라는 지구 최남단 입니다.  바람이 너무 불어서 서 있기도 힘이 드는 곳. 옛날에는 바람이 너무 불어서 배들이 이곳을 지나지 못하고 침몰했던 곳인데 어는 한 선장이 그럼에도 불구하고 이곳에도 희망이 있지 않을까 생각하면서 Cape of Good Hope이라 칭하기 시작했다고 합니다.  저희들의 인생도 늘 잔잔하지만은  않습니다.  비바람 불고, 이곳 바람 아니 그 이상의 바람이 저희들을 힘들게 할때도 많이 있습니다.  그러나 좋으신 하나님, 그 하나님이 저희 삶과 함께 하시기에 늘 소망이 있습니다. 이제 내일이면 이곳 아이들과 헤어집니다.  이 아이들에게 하나님께서 준비된 리더를 보내 주셔서 하나님의 말씀이 자리 잡기를 기도하는 밤 입니다. 내일 예배를 통하여서 많은 영혼이 하나님께 나아오길 기도합니다.  "주님, 내일 하루가 저희에게 주신 마지막 날입니다.  그러나 그 이후에도 이 아이들을 잊을 수가 없습니다.  이제 이 아이들을 마음에 품습니다. 주님, 내일의 예배를 주님께 드립니다.  함께 하여 주시옵소서." 간절한 기도가 끊이지 않는 밤입니다.  승주찬!

오늘은 아이들과 VBS를 하는 첫날 입니다. 시차적응과 어제 일들이 좀 피곤했었나 봅니다.  몸이 좀 무겁게 느껴졌었습니다.  그런데 참 이상합니다. 기상시에는 그랬는데 목사님과 말씀을 나누고 묵상하고 기도하면서 하나님께서 새 힘을 각 한사람 한사람에게 공급하셨습니다. 므훼러니 타운쉽에 있는 교회에 왔습니다.  하나님께서 이곳에 교회를 세우신지 1년이 되였습니다.허선교사님의 기도와 헌신이 Site-C Church를 세우셨고 또 Mfuleni Green Village Church를 세우셨습니다. 하나님께서 허선교사님 부부를 통해 하시는 일들이 놀랍습니다.  교회 부지를 지금 준비하고 계시는 중입니다. 저희 선교팀이 이 교회를 위해 합심 기도 하였습니다. 하나님께서 이 교회를 통해 하나님 나라의 지경을 넓혀 주시길 기도 하였습니다.   저희 팀이 Holiday Bible Club (VBS)을 아이들과 함께 할 장소입니다.  아침부터 일찍 천막을 치고 아이들을 맞을 준비에 바빴습니다.  100명의 아이들과 함께 뛰며 하나님을 찬양하고, 말씀을 나누고, 게임을 할 장소 입니다.   아이들을 Holiday Bible Club (VBS)로 초청하기 위해 동네를 다니며 노방전도를 시작하였습니다.  현지 중고등부 아이들과 한팀이 되여 타운쉽을 돌아다니며 전도를 하였습니다.  "몰로" "몰로" 를 외치며 집집 마다 문을 두들겨 보았습니다.  "몰로"란 이곳 아프리카인들의 인삿말 입니다.  하나님께서 이곳 마을 사람들의 마음을 움직여 주실 것을 믿으며 한걸음 한걸음을 띄였습니다. 노방전도를 끝내고 천막으로 돌아와 보니 이미 와 있는 아이들도 많이 있었습니다.  100명의 아이들이 모일것이라 예상 했던 저희들의 생각은 하나님의 생각과 틀렸던 것 같습니다.  500명의 아이들이 올망졸망 모였습니다. 하나님을 향해 소리를 지르고, 깔깔 웃고, 손벽치고, 점프하고....기쁨이 넘치는 순간이였습니다.  하나님이 허락하신 500%의 축복!  할렐루야! (사진을 클릭하시면 동영상을 보실 수 있습니다)   하나님의 말씀을 나누면서 아이들의 눈을 보았습니다.  눈 앞에 보이는 Table Mountain이 무엇인지도 모르고 평생 가보지도 못할 아이들....가난이라는 현실이 소망도 가리워버려지는 아이들의 삶.  하나님께서 이 아이들에게 가난이라는 현실을 뛰어 넘어 소망을 주실 것을 믿습니다.  말씀의 씨앗이 아이들의 마음밭 깊이 잘 박혀 지길 기도합니다.   "요이 땅!" 과자먹기 게임은 종족을 초월하는 게임인듯 합니다. ㅎㅎ  너무 좋아하는 아이들의 얼굴을 보면서 피곤함 보다는 그 아이들에게 웃음을 줄수 있도록 기회를 주신 하나님께 감사를 드렸습니다.   이곳에도 장애아이는 있습니다.  허선교사님께서 이 아이의 휠체어를 잡고 열심히 뛰어 주시고 게임들을 즐길수 있도록 배려해 주셨습니다.  마음이 더욱 뭉클하였습니다.   500명의 아이들에게 핫도그를 나눠주는 일이 쉽지는 않았습니다.  핫도그 하나, 칩 하나, 음료수 하나를 아이들 한명한명 손에 쥐어주며 "우예수 우예부탄다! 우예수 우예부탄다"...."예수님은 너를 사랑한단다, 예수님은 너를 사랑한단다." 그렇습니다.  하나님은 이 아이들을 사랑하십니다.  이 아이들이 하나님의 마음을 잘 알고 있을까요?  이제 저희 선교팀이 이 아이들과 만날 수 있는 날은 이틀 남았습니다.  그 남은 시간들속에서 저희가 하나님의 마음을 잘 전할 수 있기를 기도합니다.   500명의 아이들에게 점심을 주고 정리하고 나서야 저희들의 배고픔이 느껴졌습니다.  저희들이 먹어야 될 음식까지 다 나눠줘서 근처 버거킹에서 점심을 해결하기로 하고 샤핑몰에 왔습니다.  샤핑몰에 들어오니 아프리칸 사람들은 거의 찾아 볼수가 없고 백인들이 가득했습니다.  우리가 미국에서 흔히 먹는 버거킹...그 버거킹을 이곳 아프리카 주민들은 너무 비싸서 먹어 볼수가 없답니다.  우리가 얼마나 누리고 사는지 다시 한번 생각해 봅니다.  우리가 키우고 있는 자녀들은 이 현실을 알 수 있을까요?  가족이 함께 선교에 대해 나누고, 기도하고, 동참하는 새누리 공동체가 되어보면 어떨까 생각해 보았습니다.  "주님, 내일은 더 많은 아이들이 몰려 올지 모른다고 하는데 짧은 시간이지만 분주함보다는 은혜가 넘치게 하옵소서.  프로그램이 되지 말게 하옵시고 하나님의 시간이 되게 하옵소서. 아멘!" 하루를 늘 목사님과 말씀과 기도로 시작과 마무리를 합니다.  500명의 아이들과 함께한 시간들이 저희들에게는 은혜였습니다.  그 자리에 있게 해 주신 하나님, 저희들을 사용하여 주신 하나님... "여호와의 눈은 온 땅을 두루 감찰하사 전심으로 자기에게 향하는 자를 위하여 능력을 배푸시나니..." 역대하 16장 9절 말씀을 간직하며 하루를 마무리 해 봅니다.  하나님께 우리들 자신의 온전한 100%를 드리고 살고 있는지 생각해 봅니다.  전심으로 하나님을 향해 살 것입니다. 그러기에 저희가 하나님의 능력으로 내일도 담대히 하나님의 증인이 되려고 합니다. 승주찬!

    하나님께서 다른 하루를 주셨습니다.  아침예배를 드리고 Site-C Church로 왔습니다.  이곳은 가난한 흑인들이 모여사는 곳, 타운쉽이라고 불리우는 곳에 위치하고 있었습니다.  쓰레기 더미 속을 허 선교사님께서 허락을 받으시고 그 쓰레기를 치우고 지으셨던 교회....하나님께서 이교회를 귀히 사용하고 계셨습니다.  오늘 저희는 이 교회에서 벽 페인트를 칠하고, 새로 만들어지는 음악교실을 위해 벽에 칠판을 만드는  작업을 하였습니다.   우리를 환영하기 위해 Site-C Church 중고등부 아이들이 찬양을 불러 주었습니다. 아이들의 웃음과 찬양이 정말 저희들을 얼마나 환영해 주는지 마음으로 느낄 수 있었고 기뻤었습니다.  (위의 사진을 클릭하시면 동영상으로 유투브에서 보실 수 있으십니다).    많은 성도님들이 헌물해 주신 악기들을 Site-C Church 음악교실 담당자에게 전달하였습니다.  음악교실을 담당하는 자매님은 그래픽 디자이너로 대학을 들어갔는데 타운쉽에 살면서 한번도 미술을 접해 보지 못해서 힘들었다고 합니다.  타운쉽에 사는 어린 아이들에게 미술과 음악으로 꿈을 심어 주고 싶은 마음에 시작하고자 하였는데 저희 교회에서 헌물하신 악기들을 보면서 너무 기뻐하고 좋아하였습니다.  저희들의 헌물이 이 타운쉽에 사는 아이들에게 꿈과 희망을 심어주었으면 합니다. 형제님들은 벽에 페인트를 칠하고 자매님들은 실내에서 칠판을 만드는 작업을 하였습니다.  처음 칠해보는 칠판이지만 이곳에서 하나님의 많은 일들이 일어나길 기대하며 기쁜 마음으로 일을 하였습니다.   칠하고 말리고 칠하고 말리고...그렇게 작업한 칠판이 드디어 벽에 걸려 졌습니다.  이제 이 칠판에 오선이 그려지고, 이곳에서 아이들의 악기 소리들이 들려질 것 입니다.  하나님 귀에는 얼마나 아름다운 소리들이 들릴까 기대가 되고 즐거웠습니다.  막연히 생각만 하고 기도했던 담당자 자매님의 얼굴에 미소가 끊기질 않습니다. 타운쉽에는 두가지의 집들이 있습니다.  철판으로 지은 집들이 즐비하게 늘어진 사이사이에 정부에서 지어준 집들이 있습니다.  이곳 흑인들은 정부에서 집을 지어주기를 기다리며 삽니다.  30년을 기다려도 정부에서 집을 지어주지 않아 한숨 쉬는 주민들이 있습니다.  그러나 이 정부에서 지어주는 집도 1년이 지나면 비가 새고 여기저기 문제들이 많다고 합니다.집을 지어주는것이 해결책이 아님을 눈으로 볼수 있었습니다..집이 소망이 아니라 예수가 소망임을 알기를 기도했습니다   어느 한 자매님 집을 들어 가 보았습니다.  30년 째 정부에서 무료로 집 져 주기만을 기다리는 자매님. 바닥은 어디서 구입하셨는지 한국 장판이 깔려 있고, 녹 섫은 양철로 지붕을 덮고 부엌이라 하기엔 너무나 여락한 곳. 방들도 들어가 보았습니다. 여기 저기 곰팡이들이 보이고 냄새가 나고....우리들이 상상할 수 없는 곳에서 지내는 타운쉽 주민들...Site-C Church에서는 이런 분들에게 하나님을 전하고 계셨습니다.  우리들의 기도속에 있어야 할 타운쉽 주민들...이분들을 위해 기도해 주시길 바랍니다.  하나님이 이분들의 소망이 되시길... 카메라를 보자마자 찍어달라고 소리치며 포즈를 취하는 아이들. 이 아이들에게는 타운쉽이 그들의 전부 입니다.  이 아이들은 무슨 꿈이 있을까요?  분명 하나님께서 이 아이들을 움직이실 것을 믿습니다.  우리들의 기도와 사랑이 필요한 아이들 입니다.  하나님의 마음이 이 아이들에게 전해지기를 기도 합니다.   Table Mountain이라는 곳을 올라가 Cape Town을 내려 보았습니다.  이곳은 UN애서 지정한 세계 7대 유명한 명소 중 하나입니다.  올라가 보니  아름다운 해안선과 잡을 수 있을 듯한 구름이 하나님의 아름다운 창조를 느낄 수 있게 해 주었습니다.  그러나 아래를 내려다 보니 아래에 펼쳐진 도시는 백인들이 모여 사는 부자동네, 관광명소로 모여 드는 호화로운 곳 뿐이였습니다.  사방을 둘러봐도 우리가 있었던 타운쉽은 찾아 볼수가 없었습니다.  부와 가난이 함께 하는 곳, 그러나 가난은 숨어져 보여지지도 않는 곳.... 우리는 얼마나 하나님을 나타내며 살고 있을까요? 우리의 의로, 우리의 지식으로, 우리의 의지로 하나님을 가리고 살지는 않는지 돌아 봅니다.  가난한 자를 찾아 돌보는 일...그 일이 크리스챤이 해야 할 당연한 일이 아닐까요?  하나님, 세상의 눈으로 보지 말게 하옵시고, 하나님의 마음으로 세상을 돌아보게 하옵소서. 아멘!

 3월 31일 아프리카를 향한 하나님의 마음을 품고 7명이 교회에서 모여서 기도하고 출발하였습니다.  많은 형제 자매님들이 당일 함께 모여 기도로 환송하여 주시고 공항까지 나와 격려해 주었습니다.  비록 나오시지 못했지만 각처에서 남아공 아프리카 선교를 위해 기도해 주신 모든 NCBC 형제자매님들께 감사 드립니다.  한마음으로 나가는 선교이기에 더욱 큰 힘과 기대가 되였습니다.   샌프란시스코 공항에서 독일까지 11시간 비행, 독일에서 8시간 기다린후 남아프리카를 향해 10시간 비행. 그리고 남아프리카 Johannesburg공항에서 2시간을 기다린후 다시 마지막 비행기를 2시간 비행에서 Cape town 도착! 34시간이라는 긴 비행시간 동안 지치기 보다는 웃음이 있고 선교에 대한 기대가 있었던 시간들 이였습니다.  샌프란시스코 공항에서 부터 쉬지 않고 말씀을 읽고 외우며 나아가는 NCBC 선교팀! 예수님의 제자가 된다는 것이 쉽지 않음을 아는 이들이기에 먼 남아프리카 공화국도 기쁘게 갈 수 있는것 같습니다.   “오직 성령이 너희에게 임하시면 너희가 권능을 받고 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아와 땅 끝까지 이르러 내 증인이 되리라 하시니라” 사도행전 1장 8장 말씀을 가슴에 품고 하늘에서 바라본Cape Town.  지도를 펼치면 제일 땅 끝인 남아프리카 공화국에서 증인들이 되려 합니다.   Cape Town 에 허선교사님께서 Sean과 함께 우리를 맞으러 나와 주셨습니다.  이곳에서도 저희들의 선교를 위해 오랜시간 기도로 준비해 주셨었습니다. 드디어 선교지인 Cape Town에 발을 딛었습니다.  기도로 시작하는 우리들의 모습을 하나님께서 기뻐하셨으리라 믿습니다.   아이들과 금요일부터 토요일까지 이틀동안 Holiday Bible Club(VBS) 을 합니다. 공항에서 숙소로 가는 길에 미리 그곳을 보러 왔는데  마침 아이들이 모여 있어서 몇몇 아이들을 먼저 만날 수 있었습니다.  가난이라는 환경을 뒤로 한채 활짝 웃는 아이들…이 아이들이 비록 짧은 기간이지만 하나님을 전할 수 있는 귀한 한 영혼들 입니다.  주여, 한 영혼도 빠짐 없이 좋으신 하나님을 만날수 있게 허락하여 주시옵소서. 아멘!       한 영혼, 한 영혼이 귀합니다. 주님, 단 이틀의 선교이지만 이 아이들 평생의 기억에 남는 날들이 되게 하여 주시옵소서. 아멘!     긴 여행의 피곤함을 하나님께서 허 선교사님 사모님의 사랑이 듬뿍 담긴 맛있는 음식으로 새힘을 주셨습니다.  공급하시는 하나님, 내일을 기대 합니다.  승주찬!!!
