류가사키에서의 마지막 날이며 시부야에서의 첫날인 오늘 아침입니다.  아침 기도 모임으로 하루를 시작합니다.  여전히 몸은 피곤하지만 기쁨에 넘쳐 QT도 하고 의견들을 진지하게 나누기도 하였습니다.   간단한 아침 식사 (설겆이 담당은 Jackie와 하늘이네요) 후, 교회당을 청소하여 조목사님을 도와 의자를 들여 오는 등 예배 준비를 돕습니다.   이곳 류가사키 은혜 교회는 주일에 두번의 예배가 있답니다.  첫 예배는 어린이 예배인데, 현재 어린이는 10명, 그중 3명은 방학을 맞이하여 한국에 갔고, 나머지 7명이 예배에 참석하였습니다.  어린아이들이 찬양에 맞추어 좋아 펄쩍펄쩍 뛰는 것을 보면서, 하나님께서 보시기에 정말 좋으시겠다는 생각이 절로 났습니다.  우리에게도 이런 어린아이의 순진무구한 마음이 필요하지 않을까 합니다.   이어서 드려진 두번째 예배 (어른 예배)의 특별찬양으로 우리 Youth들이 Skit를 선보였습니다.  모두들 눈시울이 뜨거워 지는 등 감동하는 분위기였습니다.   예배 후, 참석한 모든 성도들이 돌아다니며 인사를 합니다.  사진에는 미국인이 한 사람 보이는데, 일본의 다른 지역에서 영어를 가르친다고 합니다. 작년에 한국사람인 부인과 이 교회를 방문한 적이 있는데, 오늘은 근처에 일이 있어 왔다가 혼자서 방문을 하였다고 합니다.    이곳 성도님들이 정성껏 마련해 주신 점심식사 (콩나물밥+연두부)를 하고 짐을 챙겨서 시부야로 떠날 준비를 합니다.  못내 아쉬어 손을 흔드는 성도님들과 떠나기 직전 사진을 한장 더 찍었습니다.     전에 소개드렸던 하야시 장로님께서 손수 20인승 마이크로버스를 운전해 주셔서 2시간만에 시부야 복음 교회에 도착하였습니다.  시무하시는 목사님은 김영길 목사님이십니다. (기억하시는지 모르겠지만, 새누리교회에서 3년전에 예배를 주제로 한 세미나에서 강사를 해 주신 그 분이십니다.)     이미 많은 부분들을 이곳 성도님들이 데코레이션을 해 놓으셨습니다.  규모는 류가사키교회보다 훨씬 커서, 학생은 70여명, 이곳 교회에서도 자원하신 선생님들이 15분이나 계시답니다.     저녁식사와 데코레이션을 마친 후, 저녁 기도 모임을 가졌습니다.  영어부의 Gale자매와 Paul형제 (두 사람은 부부)가 합류하였습니다. 이제 내일부터 VBS가 하루종일 연속 3일동안 있습니다.  하나님께서 저희 각 사람에게 영육간에 강건함을 갖게 해달라는 기도가 더욱 더 필요합니다.  영어 배우러 온 학생들에게 복음을 직접 전파한다고 당장에 무슨 효과나 결과가 있겠습니까? 중요한 것은 그들이 우리들로부터 사랑과 은혜가 넘쳐 흐르는 예수님을 발견하는 것이 곧 복음을 전파하는 것이라고 생각합니다.  우리의 눈빛에서 예수님을 발견한 그 어린아이들이 당장은 아니더라도 나중에 커서 자신이 무엇인가 혼자 결정할 수 있을 때, 우리 주님이시며 구원자되신 예수님을 떠 올리고 교회로 향한다면 그것이 곧 전도요 선교의 결과가 아닐까 생각해 봅니다.      

류가사키에서의 두번째 날이 밝았습니다.  선교 일정이라는 것이 아무래도 계속적으로 반복되는 과정들로 이루어져 있습니다.  기상 -> QT -> 아침 기도모임 -> 식사 -> VBS준비 -> VBS (찬양-말씀-찬양-제작(craft)-찬양-게임-찬양-말씀-찬양-...) -> VBS 정리 -> 저녁식사 -> 저녁기도모임 -> 취침 등등... 이런 강행군에 시차적응의 어려움까지 겹쳐 육적으로는 많이 지쳐있는 상태이지만, 영적으로는 정말 하나님의 인도하심, 하나님의 사역을 그대로 목격하는 나날의 연속이라 참으로 은혜가 큽니다.   아침 기도 모임의 모습...   QT를 통해 갖게 된 생각들을 나누는 모습들...         이번 VBS에 자원하여 많은 일을 도와주신 성도님들과 함께 찍은 사진입니다.   다니엘을 중심으로 말씀을 전하시는 르베카 전도사님과 별로 한눈팔지도 않고 듣고있는 아이들...인형극도 함께 하니 아이들의 흥미를 집중시켜 좋았고, 또 말씀 전하시는 르베카 전도사에게 성령님께서 touch하고 계심을 많이 느낄 수 있었습니다.   게임과 미술시간, 그리고 찬양하는 모습들.         오늘로 류가사키에서의 VBS일정을 모두 마쳤습니다.  셋업하여 설치하였던 여러가지 소품들을 다시 떼어내어 정리하는 모습입니다.  내일 시부야 교회에 가서 사용할 것들이기에 아주 조심스럽게 정리를 하였습니다.     저녁 기도모임의 모습,.. 암송한 성경구절들 (로마서 12:2, 사도행전 1:8)에 대한 서로의 경험과 바라는 기도제목들을 나누기도 하였습니다.   내일은 주일입니다.  류가사키 교회에서 저희들의 참석을 초대하시어, 이곳에서 드려지는 두번의 예배를 참석하고, 또 Youth들의 특별 찬양도 준비되었습니다.   새누리교회의 많은 성도님들의 계속적인 기도를 부탁 드립니다.    

어제 셋업을 마치고, 오늘 류가사키 은혜교회에서의 VBS 첫날입니다. 오늘은 아침식사 준비와 설겆이를 하는 두 형제의 모습부터 보여 드립니다.  이 두 형제님들은 분명 집에서도 잘 하고 계시리라 생각합니다...     아침을 시작하면서 절대 빼놓을 수 없는 Morning Devotion과 VBS시작하기 전, 오늘의 일과에 대한 간단한 회의를 가졌습니다.     VBS의 첫 순서인 찬양시간입니다. 찬양을 율동과 함께, 일본의 저학년 어린 학생들 나름 열심히 따라하는 모습입니다.  뒤의 두 분의 목사님들도 숨차하시면서도 열심히...   Craft시간에 각자가 만든 작품을 가지고 그룹별로 담당 선생님과 사진 한 컷씩...   우리팀은 Youth가 중심인 1차팀에 비해, 2차팀에는 다크호스인 Albert가 있었습니다.  마치 K-POP의 아이돌을 연상케 합니다.   르베카 전도사가 전한 말씀은 다니엘의 이야기가 그 중심이었습니다.  전도사님께서는 퍼핏인형들을 동원하여 어린아이들이 이해하기 쉽게, 아주 재미있게 말씀을 전하였습니다.   오후에 1차팀이 류가사키 교회에 도착하였습니다. 다들 피곤해 보이긴 하지만, 팀의 능력을 배가시키기에 부족하지 않는 순간이었습니다.   풍선을 상대방에게 어느 팀이 많이 넘기느냐로 승부를 짓는 게임에 열중하는 학생들... 이 계임을 이번 수련회에서도 큰 준비 없이 준비할 수 있지 않을까 하는 생각을 해보기도 했습니다.   1차팀의 Youth들이 선보인 찬양과 율동... 참 역동적이고 힘이 있어 보기 좋죠?   이제 하루를 마무리짓는 그룹기도 시간을 가졌습니다.  모두들 정말 기쁘게 지낸 하루였습니다. 내일도 변치 않는 아버지의마음을 갖게 해달라고 서로 기도하면서 오늘을 마감합니다.                

가족들과 목회진들의 기도와 함께 일본 단기 선교팀이 2차로 오늘 출발했습니다. 떠나기 전, 교회에서 떠나기 전, 마중나온 가족들과 목회진들과 함께... 공항에 도착하여 이제 Gate로 향하기에 앞서 단기선교팀원들끼리... 12시간의 비행 후, 중간 환승지인 인천공항에 도착하여, 일본행 비행기를 기다리는 중, 세연자매, Etan과 지원이 합류하였습니다.  모두들 목사님께서 주신 숙제 중 첫번째인 로마서에서 빌레몬서까지 읽기는 모두 비행기에서 오면서 모두 마쳤습니다.  이제 두번째 숙제인 성구암송 (3개?)를 하고 있는 팀원들 30분의 연착 끝에 7월 22일 오후 10시 30분에 드디어 목적지인 나리타 공항에 도착하여, 마중 나와 주신 류가사키 그레이스 교회의 조현도 목사님께서 감사 기도를 하여 주셨습니다. 류가사키 그레이스 교회에 도착한 것은 밤 11시 30분경, 내일은 하나님께서 어떤 역사를 보여 주실지 벌써부터 가슴이 설레입니다.

작년에는 류가사키 교회에 밤늦게 도착하자마자 새벽 4시까지 셋업을 했어야 했는데, 올해는 하나님께서 약간의 여유를 주셔서, VBS는 내일 시작하고, 오늘은 하루종일 셋업에 집중할 수 있었습니다. Morning Devotion으로 아침을 시작했습니다. 물론 팀원들은 그 전에 일어나 QT시간을 가졌구요. 내일 VBS를 위한 셋업을 하는 모습들... 특히 이곳 류가사키 교회의 70대 후반의 하야시씨께서 사다리를 타고 높은 천정까지 올라가셔 작업을 하시는 열정을 보이셨습니다. 이곳 교회의 창에 붙여진 VBS개최 광고, 내일은 38명의 학생들이 온다고 합니다. 오후에는 손경일 목사님과 준태형제님이 합류하시어 저녁 예배를 함께 드릴 수 있었습니다.  내일부터 토요일까지 이곳에서 VBS를 진행합니다. 선교는 곧 사랑이라, 그 사랑이 넘쳐 흘러 이곳에 온 모든 학생들에게 아버지의 마음이 전달되기를 기도합니다.  내일 올 학생들이 벌써 기대가 됩니다.

Dear NCBC Family, As we got to know each other and spend a week together we realized how much God put us together. Being with fellow sister and brother for long period of time can be hard or difficult, but we learned to get to know each other and learned to be united in laughter.  On the fourth day... Pastor Wife teaching the word of God... The next day...  We then had bento box lunches because one of the students mom provided us bento boxes. Doing Memory verses... Finishing the craft... And even afterward we had many dance practice and we had prayer time.  PRAYER REQUEST:  1. Team to be united 2. Dear NCBC Family, On Sunday we were able to join Tokyo Vision Church for service. We wanted to show how much joy we had in praising the Lord for who he is so we prepared a dance called "We are the Reason" showing how we were the main reason why Jesus came to die for us. It took us dedication to doing it, but at the end it came out nice and many were blessed through the dance. And wanted to share the joy to the NCBC family. We are continuously in prayer for our unity and that God will do great works in Japan please join us. Prayer Request: 1. Health (bug bites, physically, and spiritually) 2. Dear NCBC Family, Our day has been a fun day with teaching the kids and teaching them different things.  Throughout the day we reflected on the passage 1 Corinthians 15:58, "Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not vain." Wednesday can be a difficult day, but we said "praise the victorious Lord" (seung-joo-chan) and remembered that we are doing this for the Lord and his children.   We started the day with teaching the children with english and math.  If the students do well they receive tickets and they are able exchange for gifts at the store on Friday.  A joyful smile for the day.... After studying we started VBS! With extra long praise time... Craft Time... Meet Pastor Kang... Jasper Imitating Pastor! Afterward, we practiced for the dance we are going to do on Sunday! PRAYER REQUESTS: 1. Health- some of us have stomach aches, but none of us got bug bites! 2. Mission team to be united! 3. Be willing to serve with a heart in all we do! Dear NCBC family, Started the day with worship and prayer for the children that came to the VBS that they may be open to the gospel. Through the knowledge of John 1:12 where it talks about how whoever believes in the father that they may be the children of God.  We wanted to let the children know of who Christ is so that they may also be a child of God.  We started with Math and English camp. Teachers teaching and helping students to do their work.    Meet Gyen! This little boy has so much joy in learning! After teaching math and english! We started the VBS! We played the mingling games with the children.... Some of the joy of today.... Meet Yun Byeong!   After the great time with the kids we had dinner and enjoyed the time we had for the night! JAPAN TEAM LOVES ICECREAM! ALSO ENJOYED THE ROOFTOP OF THE CHURCH! PRAYER REQUESTS: 1. Unity of the mission team.  2. Willing heart to serve the Japanese Kids.  3. Dear NCBC Family, We have arrived in Tokyo yesterday past midnight.  Even through the long day of travels we were still able to have a brief meeting for the week to come.  The next day, we were super tired, because of the  lack of sleep, but through the strength of God we were able to finish the day. Through 2 Kings 18:7 "And the Lord was with him; he was successful in whatever he undertook." We were encouraged to keep his commandment and even if we were anxious we gave all our anxious thoughts to him.  With the encouragement, we put on smiling faces and greeted the children and we were able to teach them. We were so blessed at the children's encouragement to see them study english and math and join us for VBS.  Our lovely praise team, were able to explain and teach the songs to the children.  After praise Pastors Wife helped us with the bible study about the bible verse, which is Isaiah 30:21. We made motions with the verse. The men on the right is Jessie a teacher currently helping the pastors.  And through the verse and the craft we were able to share the gospel through the craft. The craft was how Jesus is the bridge to Heaven and that he is the only way.  After some joyful time of crafts we were able to have some play time with the kids. Here are some joyful smiles.  After the VBS, our mission team, practiced a dance for the non christian people who are going to come on Sunday and ended the long day with  prayer for Tokyo Vision Church and the children who come out to camp and VBS.  A picture of the street that we walk daily from the church to the house.  Prayer Request: 1. 오늘 아침 7명의 일본 단기선교 1차팀이 출발했습니다.  대부분이 유스 학생들로 구성된 1차팀은 3주간 일본에 머물면서 선교사역을 감당하게됩니다.  계속해서 기도해주시기 바랍니다. 

일주일간의 단기선교사역을 잘 마치고 은혜가운데 돌아오게 하신 하나님을 찬양입니다. 

Fifth Day - Day 4 of the Mission 1 John 3:16-18 16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. VBS Ministry to the younger ladies during the VBS Sports Ministry Closing message and prayer by Pastor Antonio Ventura.  Reminded the kids that a church will be built upon the site and worship will be taking place here! Final day of Construction Ministry - pictures of the adults, staff members, and pastors who have been working on the Construction site. Mission day 4 completed! Back at the basecamp, a little relaxation by playing football before dinner. Day 5 will end with dinner, followed by evening chapel, and then team debrief and prayer meeting.  We have 1 more day of ministry left.  Please continue to pray that the Youth team will stay focused and make lasting impact to the kids at Rosarito so that they can become the salt and light of the area.

Day 2 (Day 1 of Mission work) Morning kicked off with morning worship. Breakfast - breakfast burrito and oatmeal Getting ready for sports ministry Arrived at the mission site that we will be ministering for the next 5 days. Construction site where a brand new church will be built.  The construction team will focus on leveling and cleaning up the foundation, and raise the rear where the main sanctuary will be built. The team waiting for lunch before starting the ministry work. The digging and leveling started after lunch. Vacation Bible Study (VBS) Since the church isn't built out yet, we used the small area next to the house to hold the VBS.  We had 14 kids join VBS today.
